World Travel Management sold to Expedia
In a deal advised by Initium, Expedia Corporate Travel (ECT) acquired London-based travel management company World Travel Management. This deal is a good example of our long track record of selling privately owned businesses to major global acquirers.
NASDAQ-listed, and with group revenues in excess of $12bn, Expedia is one of the world’s best-known travel groups, and the owner of leading brands including CarRentals.com, Expedia.com, HomeAway, Hotels.com, Hotwire.com, Orbitz, Travelocity, trivago and Vrbo.
While acquisition has been a key component of Expedia’s growth plans since its spin-off from Microsoft in 1999, this was only the second-ever acquisition made by Expedia Corporate Travel – now known as Egencia – in Europe.
