The Driving Instructor Centre sold to Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions (now Novuna Vehicle Solutions)

Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions Ltd, a specialist in vehicle leasing and fleet management services, since rebranded to Novuna Vehicle Solutions, has acquired Leicester-based Robinsons Garage (Aylestone) Limited trading as The Driving Instructor Centre (TDIC). The shareholders of TDIC were advised throughout the transaction by Initium.

Founded in the late 1980s, the company employed approximately 50 people at the time of the transaction and specialised in the contract hire of dual-control vehicles for independent driving instructors and driving schools. It supplied around 3,200 contract hire and lease vehicles annually nationwide.

Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions Ltd, was rebranded to Novuna Vehicle Solutions in 2022, following the merger of Hitachi Capital Corporation with Mitsubishi UFJ Lease and Finance Company, forming Mitsubishi HC Capita. The business is a leading UK provider of vehicle leasing and fleet management services, offering solutions for cars, vans, HGVs, and specialist vehicles.
