Marco sold to Atkore International

Atkore International Group (NYSE: ATKR) has acquired Marco Cable Management, a leading UK designer and manufacturer of wire cable tray and PVC trunking, in a deal led by Initium.

Founded in 2003 and based in Llangefni, Anglesey, Marco Cable Management is a leading uPVC cable management company, and the UK’s largest manufacturer of steel wire cable trays.

New York-listed Atkore delivers a unique portfolio of integrated electrical raceway solutions, with 3,100 employees and 52 manufacturing and distribution sites worldwide.

Commenting on Initium’s advisory role in the transaction, Ian MacGregor, founder of Marco Cable Management, said: “We heard that Initium seeks out as many potential purchasers as it can and that was really appealing to us. We had around a dozen offers and Initium held our hand through the whole process.”

Offering advice to other business owners, Ian added: “Use Initium. I am not aware of anyone else who goes to so much effort to find potential purchasers for you.”
