AudioSoft sold to Ultra Electronics Holdings plc (now Ultra Electronics Holdings Ltd)
AudioSoft, a specialist data recording company, has been acquired by Ultra Electronics Holdings plc (now Ultra Electronics Holdings Ltd), a British defence and security company.
At the time of the transaction, AudioSoft was based in Cirencester, Gloucestershire and had 42 employees. It provided data recording and analysis products that allowed organisations to record, preserve and rapidly locate important information. The company’s products were used throughout the world in a wide variety of markets including, air traffic control, defence, law enforcement, emergency services, court rooms and national security. The products allowed the capture, playback and analysis of various data types and met evidentially admissible standards for courts. Following the acquisition, AudioSoft became part Ultra’s Tactical & Sonar Systems division.
Since the acquisition, Ultra has been acquired by Cobham, which is owned by Advent International, a US-based private equity firm. It has also been delisted from the London Stock Exchange and is now Ultra Electronics Holdings Ltd. Ultra is a defence and aerospace company specialising in mission-critical systems and technologies for military, aerospace, and security applications. Its product portfolio includes sonar systems, communications, electronic warfare, cyber security, and control systems for naval, air, and land forces. The company primarily serves government and defence customers in the UK, United States, Canada, Australia, and NATO-aligned countries. Its technologies support key programmes like the Royal Navy’s submarine fleet and the US Navy’s sonar systems.
