Sleek Makeup sold to Walgreens Boots Alliance

Sleek International Ltd, owner of the fast-growing Sleek MakeUP brand, has been acquired by Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc, a global leader in retail and wholesale pharmacy. Initium advised the shareholders of Sleek International on this landmark transaction.

Sleek MakeUP was established 1985 in London, with a focus on providing premium quality cosmetics. Recognising that women of colour were under-represented in the beauty industry, the business developed a highly pigmented range of products for all skin tones.

The brand is well-known for developing on-trend, pioneering products, including i-Divine Eyeshadow palettes, Highlighting Palettes, Matte Me Liquid Lipsticks and Cream Contour Kits.

Under new ownership, this UK brand has experienced international rollout: Sleek MakeUP is sold in 15 countries and over 2,200 stores globally, and the brand has over 1 million Instagram followers.
